In the Community
One of Guy’s strategic aims is to create a world class employee experience and ensure Goodman Masson is the Number 1 place to work for in London. It’s a bold objective, although being Ranked Number 2 in The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For shows that we are serious!
‘The Experience’ of working here, covers many elements and a big part of this is the part we play in our Local Community and we actively work to support local business. Our weekly delivery of fresh fruit, a concierge dry cleaning service and the daily visits from the sandwich man have all been sourced locally. Our goal is to support local business as much as possible, yet it does not stop there….
Our Annual Employee Survey showed that 85% of the business was interested in volunteering in the community (53% wanted to work with an education charity and 77% wanted to work with a children and youth charity) we worked closely with City Action to identify what charity was right for us.
Through City Action, we were introduced to Karibu back in April 2009, and are proud to continue our partnership with them. We understand first hand how important it is to get people into employment and through Karibu, we are enabled to help our local youth develop the skills to gain employment in the coming years.
Each year, we also choose a Charity to support, and in 2011 we will be partnering with The Great Ormond Street Hospital and we have committed to raised in excess of £30,000. Click here to see how we plan on doing this. (link to the page).
In 2010 we raised in excess of £35,000 for Help for Heroes. This was a truly amazing charity for us to work with and we were proud to have been able to assist them, and we had a great time - we became
World Record Holders doing so.
‘Heart of the City’ has since used Goodman Masson as a
case study.
