The Goodman Masson Story

Goodman Masson was formed by Paul Goodman and Mark Masson, and formally started trading from number 2 Bath Street, London EC1 on February 11th 1993.

The original partnership proved extremely capable of driving the business through its start up phase. Paul Goodman led the sales effort while Mark Masson, a Deloitte trained chartered accountant, set up and managed the businesses infrastructure and spent the balance of his time recruiting for a variety of clients.

The company moved from its original basement office in 1995 to a floor higher up the building which had the luxury of windows. The company had 8 recruitment consultants, including the two founders, a small cost base, strong revenue generation capability and the economy was well set.

In 1996 we moved to Crusader House in St John Street into larger offices with a view to accelerating the growth of the business, The change from start up to fully fledged business proved more challenging and in 1998 it was decided to change the management team by bringing in Avi Bradman as Financial Controller.

In 1999 Avi became Finance Director, in 2000 he became Chief Executive.. Paul Goodman and Avi Bradman completed the purchase of Mark Masson’s shares in 2002

The company went on under Avi’s leadership to grow and consolidate its position as a leading independent recruitment business in the Finance arena.

By 2007 Paul and Avi believed that they needed to make further change to take the company to the next stage of its development, this culminated in the appointment of Guy Hayward as a member of the board, shareholder and Chief Executive in August 2008.

Guy’s appointment has created a new momentum in the business with the focus on building a market leading employee experience and driving top and bottom line financial performance. Despite testing economic conditions the business is delivering strong growth and record breaking results.
