Women in Leadership
In the UK, while there is much media coverage in regards to creating the right environment and career infrastructure for women to end up with a seat in the boardroom, the reality is it’s not as common as you would hope.
Goodman Masson has launched the Women in Leadership programme.
We saw this as an opportunity to create a working infrastructure for our female colleagues to position themselves for a successful career ahead. From talking about leadership, decision making, your personal brand, building your career road map, visibility, the work life issue and most of all how to make it happen.
‘Women in Leadership’ enables us to bring together a talented group of professionals and provide them with the infrastructure and platform to visualise, shape and embark along a successful career path’.
The programme enables us identify future leaders, manage people’s careers, assess readiness for progression and create an environment for sharing knowledge and experiences. We have invested in the programme from Emberin
and the 12 month programme covers the following subject areas:
- Lead like a women
- Time for action
- Personal Branding
- Build a plan
- Taking calculated risks
- Raising your visibility
- The power of networking
- Understanding male and female
- Striking the balance
- Make it happen!
Quarterly Networking evenings
In addition to the 12 month workshops, we also held quarterly networking evenings, the first one took place in August.
Deborah Exell, Director of Executive Resourcing, Talent & Development, at Lloyds, lead the group discussing topical areas surrounding the issue of Women in Leadership including; career progression, techniques to get ahead, behaviours that lead to success, overcoming hurdles, does your career have to end after children?
