Our specialist Actuarial Division was established 9 years ago, and works with a broad range of clients including accounting firms & consultancies, reinsurers and insurers, public sector bodies and asset managers and investment banks on a permanent and contract basis. We work with the majority of the biggest names in the actuarial market, as well as new start-ups and niche market specialists.

Our team specialises in the following areas: Pensions, Life, Actuarial Contracting and Non-Traditional & Investment.

Pensions

Our market leading Pensions team has a combined 22 years of recruiting experience, and regularly places pensions actuarial students and qualified actuaries into the Big 4 Accounting firms, the ‘Top 3’ Pensions consultancies, many of the small to medium sized consultancies and start-ups.  We help pensions actuaries at all stages of their career. We are particularly strong at building long term relationships, often placing people as students and then again after they are qualified.

Life

Our established Life business places life actuaries at all levels from actuarial students to Chief Actuaries, Department Heads and Directors/Partners. We are able to service clients and candidates across the UK and Ireland and our clients include consultancies, insurers, reinsurers, mutuals, public sector bodies as well as less traditional areas including the banks, buyout companies and financial regulators.

Actuarial Contracting

Goodman Masson Actuarial has a dedicated contracting business, focused on placing Actuaries and Actuarial Students on day rate contracts across the UK. Building on 9 years of success in the permanent actuarial market, we are now able to offer a variety of contracting assignments across Life Insurance, General Insurance and Pensions. Life contracts typically include Solvency II projects, Pricing, Product Development and Systems Specialists. General Insurance contracts will include Reserving, Pricing, Capital Modelling, Catastrophe Modelling & Risk. Pensions contracts tend to be within the established consultancies as well as in-house roles. Whilst day rate contracting is our main focus, fixed term contracts are also available.

Non-Traditional & Investment

Our Non-Traditional Team was launched in early 2010 and offers Life, Pensions and Investment actuaries (and sometimes CFAs) the opportunity to move into areas outside of traditional consulting. Constantly building new relationships, we also help people who wish to move from one actuarial sector to another, such as moving from Pensions to Investment or to General Insurance. Our Non-Traditional Team works closely with our Life and Pensions Teams, meaning whoever you speak to, your consultant has access to every role which is great for those interested in doing ‘something different’!
Our Non-Traditional team also has an established track record of placing investment actuaries into both traditional and non-traditional roles. This ranges from traditional investment consultancies (large and small) to fiduciary managers, asset managers and investment banks.
