Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Balance sheet Controller with Treasury product knowledge to join the Management Control department of an International Investment Bank. This is the business facing function of Finance being responsible for analysing and interrogating the financial results of the division.

The candidate will be responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the business and Front Office specifically around the Balance sheet, inter-desk funding & liquidity management. The role involves significant contact with Front Office as well as divisional finance staff and senior Management in London and Madrid.

Key Responsibilities:

•Develop, deliver and maintain Management Information on the Banks Balance sheet & transfer pricing to support effective planning and decision making across business and senior management level
•Prepare daily, weekly & quarterly transfer pricing results
•Execution & delivery of financial analysis for Balance Sheet accounting, forecast and strategies
•Developing business/financial models to support decision making
•Implementation of changes to FSA Liquidity requirements
•Provide and explain business results identifying business drivers and variances.
•Explain key financial information to non-accountant stakeholders (front-office / middle office).
•Drive process improvements and efficiencies to enable the development and implementation of models and parameters to analyse and report the Banks balance sheet and capital information, including linkage of business forecasts to funding, P&L and liquidity transfer pricing implications
•Preparation and presentation of financial and management reporting to Senior Management
•Other ad-hoc management reporting and analysis as arises
•Challenge existing processes and practises and act and as agent for change where appropriate

The candidate must be accountancy qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong Banking experience. Product knowledge covering Loans/Deposits, Repos, FX, Securities and Derivatives and previous Balance sheet reporting experience are a pre-requisite to application.
In addition the candidate must have a good understanding of bank funding & management of liquidity for banking businesses and prior experience of report production, analysis and provision of business commentary.
