An exciting opportunity has become available in one of the UKs leading public sector organisations. We are looking for a fully- qualified Capital Accountant to take responsibility for the organisation's £3-4bn Capital Programme.
You will be responsible for:
* Preparing the Capital aspects of the organisation's budget.
* Monitor Capital expenditure and funding sources in the programme by challenging programme and project managers to ensure information is realistic and accurate.
* Maintaining the Capital Programme on the system so that it is up to date and meets the needs of the programme and project managers.
* Ensuring the feeder systems are integrated with the accounting system so that consistent information is available.
* Liaising with the Treasury Manager to agree the organisation's capital accounting policies and ensure they are implemented fully and in accordance with best accounting practice.
* Liaising with the Chief Accountant to close the organisation's capital accounts.
* The Fixed Asset register - reconciling the FAR to the general ledger.
* Liaise with senior officers to ensure that payments to Registered Social Landlords, local authorities and other customers are made efficiently and effectively.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to work, with the ability to participate in multi-disciplinary, cross-department and cross- organisation groups and project teams.
