Job description
A large oil and gas company located in the City of London is urgently recruiting for an experienced Payments Clerk with SAP to join their busy team on an ongoing temporary basis with the potential to go permanent.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Process payments received mostly via Treasury electronic payments delivery systems; both single and batch payment files. Responsible to perform work in accordance with operating procedures and practice.
- Ensure payment requests comply with Trade Sanctions, Anti-money Laundering (AML), Anti Bribery & Corruption (ABC), Fraud & Misconduct standards.
- Operate to tight daily deadlines, very high levels of accuracy and quality of service are essential for Treasury processing.
- Foster good working relationships with transactional banks, trading counterparties and BP customers to mutual advantage.
- Manage failed transactions, payment queries and issues to resolve in a timely manner.
- Participate in Sarbanes Oxley, audit assessments, incident reporting to meet risk, control and compliance requirements.
- Commitment to learn and develop appropriate skills and knowledge that impact integrity and operating performance and to meet current and future business needs.
Successful candidates for this role must have a background in accounts payable or payments, must have extensive experience of SAP and must have performed bank reconciliations. Large company backgrounds and some audit/compliance experience would be preferred.
