Your Weekend Planned with International Women's Day

This week, we're bringing you special events, in honour of International Women's Day. Whatever your gender, join the movement to achieve #BalanceforBetter

Women of the World Festival

Join this festival events for its 9th year, at the Southbank Centre. Be inspired by a 2-day line-up of speakers that includes political activist Angela Davis and comedian Jo Brand discussing the issues facing women today.

Banana Cabaret

In honour of IWD, one of London’s premiere standup comedy clubs is hosting an all-female lineup that includes Mock the Week’s Tania Edwards and Jessica Fostekew, a “consistently hilarious” comic and well-loved regular on The Guilty Feminist.

For just £5 grab a ticket to this showcase AND a pint of Straight Up Pale, with all proceeds donated to charitable fund, Rosa. You’ll be witness to the launch of a new IWD collaboration brew, get to try an awesome range of female-led breweries and listen to discussions from some of the beer industry’s most talented female speakers.

Free Gig – Geo

Celebrate IWD with up-and-coming artist Geo, who’ll be performing live music from her debut album, AURA. Geo’s music is perfect for those who enjoy a little old school soul but her original take on the genre is sure to turn anyone’s head.

Who Runs the World Dance Workshop

At Your Beat is the UK’s most inclusive dance and fitness company and this IWD they’ll be hosting a 1.5 hour workshop, with the aim of promoting body confidence. Dance to strong female artists like Beyonce and Cardi B then join the ‘talk circle’ to celebrate the women who inspire us. This workshop is for all ages and genders so even if you’ve got two left feet there’s a place for you there.
