FMCG & Retail

It will be no surprise that across the Retail and FMCG sectors we have seen continuous evolution, not only in our clients but in the role profiles we are hiring for! Technology is at the forefront of the retail sector with a focus on constant growth through ecommerce platforms which subsequently has created opportunities throughout digital and online divisions and more robust central cost functions.

Whilst consumers still desire convenience the FMCG sector has been heavily influenced by the need for healthier alternatives and the mindset of the “conscious customer” which has not only made way for numerous, exciting start-ups to enter the market but has pushed larger brands to diversify their brand portfolio’s, launching fantastic new and niche products which then require the support of a slightly different skill-set. Neither of these trends would be expected to change imminently however the growth in these talent pools may give clients more options as the markets continue to develop.

We have an established team of consultants specialising in the Consumer Market with one of our key responsibilities being to source, screen and qualify commercially-minded candidates.

The team has strong and long lasting relationships with niche, household and global brands including many of the major listed employers of choice.

Pretty Little Liars: Why not to lie on your CV

Earlier this week, Recruiter magazine revealed that us English think we are the most honest when it comes to interviews. Combined with their stories from recruitment firms, Just IT and ESG, of caught-out candidates who’ve leapt from windows or those who’ve been part of Wolf of Wall Street style firms, however, it seems our beliefs don’t always line up with the truth. In fact, a report from Hire Right found that 85% of employees have at one point this year discovered a candidate lying on their...

Reconnecting after a career break

There are many reasons any one of us may take a break from work, whether that's to spend more time with family or due to an illness. And whether it's for 6 months or 6 years, one thing all returners have in common is the worry that their homecoming will be an uphill climb. These fears are unfortunately not unfounded, with Burcu Erdur, whose past experience included several senior positions, telling Vodafone that after a 2 year break "it was as if I'd never worked. I felt like my career break ...
