This weekend we took to Dorney Lake to swim, cycle and run ourselves to exhaustion. The culmination of months of hard work, the Goodman Masson DiamondTri, was a great way for our team to bond over what wetsuit to buy and how sore their legs were. Not all of our group activities are so strenuous though, and most of them don't involve hobbling home. With the year already half-way through, we thought weíd take a look at some of the fun things we've got up to so far.
Kayaking down the River Thames
Giving our employees the chance to experience something truly life-changing all whilst right here in the city, kayaking towards the houses of parliament at night was a chance to see in London in a new light. With truly breath-taking views, this wasnít your usual boat ride.
Theatre trip to Les Miserables
We try to create a broad range of activities that appeal to everybody on our team and for some there's nothing like the high of a west end show. This trip was incredibly popular and brought together the whole team.
Golfing in Marbella
Swapping out the sand for green grass, we headed to Marbella in May for the Los Flamingos golf course.
Skiing in Verbier
Like all of our trips, skiing came with the chance to pay it back interest free over our own chosen time period. Following ski lessons and the chance to grab a drink in some pretty cool bars, there's nothing like a helping hand out of the snow, to bring a group together.
"Being fairly new to Goodman Masson at the time, the ski trip was a wicked opportunity to get to know everyone at the office, what better way is there to get familiar than in the Swiss Alps over (probably too many) beers!" - Jessica Ruston, Consultant
Other trips of note:
- De La Bowl-Not just for the golden oldies, bowling on a rooftop in the sun.
- Pool Tournament- With the chance to win a cash prize, the competition was on.
- Taste of London- Great food and even better company.
- Go Karting- A race to the finish line that ensured we were all winners.
- Indoor Cricket- A regular trip, we take to Lords for Cricket come rain or shine.
- Tough Mudder- Not for the faint of heart, we got filthy running through these obstacles.
And with a trip to Madagascar, Movies on the River and the Crystal Maze coming up, we're not going to be short of things to do in the coming months. (Keep up to date with our #lifeatGM on instagram here)
Trips like this are important for staff morale and bonding, read why our CEO Guy Hayward, is so intent on continuing our traditions, in this Recruiter Magazine article here.
