We are currently recruiting for a part qualified Accountant position at a leading Real Estate Development business in Central London.

The business is growing and this role offers great development and career potential and would be ideal for somebody looking to vary their skillset.

Candidates are required to be Part Qualified ACCA / CIMA.

Key Tasks:

  • Champion the Horizon system with the Asset Management Team
  • Confirm daily interface between finance system and Horizon occurred correctly
  • Perform quarterly reconciliation between finance system and Horizon and conclude exceptions as needed
  • Horizon month end and year end procedures
  • Horizon monthly indexing, including updating RPI/CPI and bank base rates
  • Ensure residential sales reservations, exchanges and completions are accurately reflected on Horizon and the finance system, including maintenance of escrow monies held with solicitors records and any postings required

Financial processing and control

  • Have ownership and control of financial ledgers for each entity and ensure up to date and accurate records are in place
  • Help drive a series of finance system improvements including reviewing and testing the implementing an automatic bank reconciliation program
  • Weekly cashbook postings
  • Raising sales invoices (and credit notes where required) including intercompany recharges where required in advance of applicable month/quarter end
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations by working day 5 of the month
  • Generating payments and cash transfers on Barclays.net on a monthly basis and as required
  • Set up of new bank accounts, including for rent deposits, as required
  • Monthly Balance sheet control (including review of debtors, creditors, WIP balances, etc.)
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly inter-company reconciliation schedules including appropriate follow up on any variances identified
  • Generating payments and cash transfers on Barclays.net on a monthly basis and as required
  • Assisting the Management & Financial Accountant with preparation of quarterly managements accounts
  • Assisting the Management & Financial Accountant with year-end procedures including populating lead schedules, locating supporting documentation and posting journals
  • Performing first finance review on the draft financial statements
  • Supporting the Management & Financial Accountant with external audits, communicating with auditors as required including talking through key business cycles and the associated processes and controls and liaising with other members of the business or finance team for information requested

Treasury

  • Manage internal cash transfers for entities noted below, ensuring accurately entered into finance system and Barclays.net
  • Set up of ad hoc payments for entities noted below on Barclays.net as required, ensuring that L1 and L2 authorisation in place
  • Prepare interest schedules on debt draw down and work with the Management & Financial Accountant/Head of Funding to post quarterly interest journals into the finance system
  • Ad hoc support around the management of the project bank accounts
  • Report on daily bank account balances including proactively identifying any areas of concern (e.g: overdraft usage, balances below payment run levels etc..)

Systems

  • Assist in review and implementation of internal controls, including but not limited to, invoicing, expenses and management reporting
  • Assist in review and implementation of system improvements (Knowledge, finance system, etc.)
