Head of Accounts Payable/Accounts Payable Manager

AP Team: AP Supervisor + 10 AP Clerks

Commercial Finance Director

Main Purpose of Job

  • Tactical (day to day):
    • Oversee processing of invoices & credit notes within agreed supplier terms
    • Oversee reconciliation of accounts
    • Escalation point for supplier queries
    • Manage international/intercompany entities
  • Process Improvement:
    • Liaising with various departments to ensure smooth efficient process flows
    • Evaluate current processes and provide recommendations on areas of risk and ways to drive improvement/efficiencies
  • Compliance: Implementation of SOX, continued compliance with SOX controls and audit assistance
  • Management and understanding of credit rating
  • Management of team including hiring, training, performance management and continued engagement
  • Analytics - Explanations of monthly balance changes
  • Strategy - Assist Director in developing options to drive favourable cash flow for the organization

Knowledge & Experience

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Accounts Payable
  • Minimum 3-5+ years managing a large transactional team
  • Experience with International locations and currencies a must
  • Experience with IT change management (system upgrades and transitions)
  • Experience producing Cashflow Analysis
  • Experience producing DPO (Days Payable Outstanding) ratios
  • Accounting knowledge required
  • Experience working in a US owned/based company
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining both internal and external relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Advanced excel and MS office skills
  • Background in technology/IT industry a plus
