About the role:

A well-established global construction engineering business is looking for a Business Development Manager to be based at home. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of meeting sales targets and will play a key role in the growth of the firms national EV charger network and in strengthening our position as a market leader in the EV charging solutions market.

The role directly supports the firms purpose of ‘making zero carbon happen’ by delivering reliable and sustainable EV charging solutions that will encourage the transition from carbon intensive fuels to electric whilst also delivering improved air quality standards in our communities


  • Responsible for securing new EV partnerships with strategic private sector organisations that will include the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of best-in-class EV charge point hardware.
  • Provide support and direction to a Junior Business Development Manager, with the potential to grow this team in future years and ensuring that they operate effectively and directly contribute to the growth of the EV business whilst always maintaining excellent levels of customer service.
  • The successful candidate will take a strategic approach to business development activity and will ensure excellent standards of customer service are always delivered.
  • Working with the sales team to develop mutually beneficial proposals, negotiate contract terms and communicate effectively with internal / external stakeholders.

Skills and qualifications

  • Sales experience essential
  • Knowledge of the EV market strongly preferred
  • People management experience preferred
  • Numeracy

  • Ability to resolve complex issues
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Presentation proposal and report writing skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and optimisation

  • Developed experience of sales process
