Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer

Job Summary

Goodman Masson are currently working on a Business intelligence Analyst/Developer role, for one of the world's leading professional services firm based in Norwich.

The successful individual will be involved in the exciting new expansion of the organisation, whilst gaining the exposure of defining and developing complex insurance solutions.

Responsibilities will include

  • Work closely with Business Partners and Stakeholders, helping to establish requirements
  • Assess requirements, designing solutions with reference to the strategic objectives of the Data & MI Team and Marsh
  • Assess effort to support delivery plans, helping to identify dependencies and priorities
  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues, sharing skills and knowledge to help maximise potential
  • Contribute to appropriate requirements, solutions and planning documentation
  • Lead deliveries, managing Stakeholder expectations, providing regular progress updates and referring issues that need to be managed
  • Control delivery scope, playing back impact of additional requirements to stakeholders and re-planning as required
  • Establish appropriate application (data transformations, information definitions, process and how-to') documentation, leveraging design work and adding to Data & MI knowledge share
  • Design test scripts and controls required to complete and sign-off system testing equivalent
  • Deliver into UAT, supporting Business Partners with roll-out, including end user training, testing and sign-off
  • Migrate into Production, completing steps required by Production Team and IT to on-board

Minimum Required Skills

  • Experience with data handling and Scripting skills, ideally including QlikView, SQL, Excel (VBA)
  • Solid Data modelling and visualisations skills, including appropriate bespoke views that bring meaning to results
  • Team work - support for own team, wider team and business as a whole
  • Problem solving skills - ability to work through issues logically, developing potential solutions/approaches, but referring where appropriate
  • Insurance, Insurance Broking or other Financial Services experience would be beneficial
