Overview & responsibilities

A European Bank in London is looking for a Business Manager / PMO to act as the conduit between their Global Markets Front Office and their Technology division. You will support the Head of Global Markets Technology and Process by:

- defining business architecture for Global Markets and the whole value chain

- ensuring alignment of the IT roadmap with business strategy

- managing global IT budget process and roadmap fro Global Markets activities

- driving the governance for Trading, Market Risk and operations domain including agenda, reporting, IT architecture evolution, budgeting, spend tracking. Includes preparing slides and helping with minutes and follow-ups

- representing Global Markets in Compliance and other domains as appropriate

- programme portfolio management across all investment programmes e.g. tracking status of programme / portfolio deliverables and milestones

- working with the IT Division for enhanced financial analysis, cost transparency & governance improvements on IT budget and spend

- portfolio level risk and issue co-ordination including calling out and helping to manage inter-dependencies between programmes

- coordination of the regular portfolio level reporting cycles working closely with Risk, Operations and Equities

- coordination and oversight of programme / portfolio Governance arrangements particularly in Global Markets, Post Project Reviews, portfolio level workshops

- transversal Programmes management, Budgets, assisting in preparation of TOMs and functional models, Analysis of current state of IT systems & processes & supporting your manager in analysis of business & IT evolution pathways.

Additional responsibilities will involve:

- programme governance and control

- programme planning, reporting and control

- project management

Experience required

- programme coordination and management

- experience of managing projects or exposure to the end to end project lifecycle

- experience with preparing budgets and tracking budget expenditure and knowledge of best practice in budgetary planning and monitoring

- knowledge of project management tools and techniques

- experience of working in a trading room environment of a global investment bank

- understanding of investment banking / global markets business and end to end transaction flows

Desirable experience required

- Prince 2, MSP or P30, PMP qualifications

- Prior experience as a business manager

- bilingual French and English
