XLP: Join Us in Creating Positive Futures for Young People
XLP is a leading youth work charity, dedicated to transforming the lives of young people in inner London. Our innovative approach tackles poverty and educational failure head-on, making a real difference in communities. We work holistically, delivering long-term programs for young people aged 11 to 25 in schools and local areas.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of XLP, playing a vital role in our projects. Without them, we couldn’t achieve our mission. Volunteers bring their enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for young people, while also sharing their local knowledge. They enrich our teams and help us build positive relationships with more young individuals.
To continue our impactful work, we need approximately 250 volunteers across our projects. The majority will be recruited to provide one-to-one support for our expanding tutoring and mentoring initiatives. Most of our volunteers come from the local community, churches, and corporate partnerships. We strive to ensure all our volunteers have a fulfilling experience and truly make a difference in the lives of the young people they support.
We are currently seeking a Volunteer Manager who will play a crucial role in recruiting, inducting, training, and managing our volunteers. Your dedication will empower volunteers to provide the best possible support to young people and ensure their positive experience with XLP. Additionally, you will be responsible for administering the DBS process for all staff and volunteers.
This hybrid role offers a balanced mix of face-to-face and office-based work. Approximately 60% of your time will involve direct interaction with our team and volunteers, while Mondays will be based at our central London office.
