Goodman Masson are delighted to be supporting a leading organisation that supports traders and local businesses in London and the South East of England. The organisation oversees and administers a prominent vendors space which is a vital hub for fresh produce and commodities.
They are looking for a Credit Control Manager to join their team for a minimum of 12 months.
As a pivotal member of our team, you will oversee debtor accounts for the organisation, actively employing strategies to reduce debt age, ensure prompt dues collection, and expedite recovery from Market Tenants and other commercial agreements. Efficient income and cash processing, timely invoice issuance, effective query resolution, and continual enhancement of departmental processes are crucial. The role involves data analysis to set priorities, assess credit control policy effectiveness, and generate management reports. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be based in South West London, with potential for remote work. The position necessitates direct communication with tenants during market hours and close collaboration with the Property team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely, accurate, and complete issuance of invoices.
- Cultivation of strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to reinforce contractual commitments and facilitate invoice settlement.
- Resolution of invoicing queries in a timely manner.
- Comprehensive management of debt recovery, including proactive debt collection, tenant payment plans negotiation, decision-making on invoking debt recovery procedures, and collaboration with legal proceedings.
- Ongoing improvement of invoice-to-cash processes to achieve a 45-day average ageing of arrears and mitigate bad debt risks.
- Efficient cash management, including collections, refunds, and accurate allocation of receipts.
- Preparation of relevant statements and reports.
- Assessment and monitoring of bad debt risk, proposing necessary actions for approval.
- Generation of regular management information reports on various performance indicators.
- Review and maintenance of Credit Control policy and procedures.

Remote work may be possible based on the manager’s discretion and organisational policies. Regular face-to-face communication with tenants is required during market operating hours, which is between 10pm – 5am, every fortnight, in coordination with the Head of Property.
