An incredible, unique opportunity to join one of the UK's largest and best known charities. Join this commercially-minded organisation to lead the provision of all accounting, tax, treasury and financial operations within the charity. Develop and implement a strategy to ensure the division runs efficiently and can demonstrate the highest financial control standards.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Leading teams to deliver transaction processing, fixed asset management, treasury and cash management, VAT and tax management, statutory reporting and audit, management accounting and development of financial policies
  • Continuously look for and implement ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness through process improvement and automation
  • Design and implement reporting process improvements that meet business needs and reflect best practice
  • As part of the SLT, shape and contribute to the strategic direction of the directorate and engage people at all levels to understand the strategy and their delivery responsibilities
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Financial Management on matters relating to budgeting and planning
  • Oversee the annual audit, production of the Annual Report and statutory accounts

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience
  • Have experience of operating as a Finance Director in a large organisation
  • Be from a commercial background, with an understanding and appreciation of the charity sector
  • Have a proven track record of managing a large team through change
