An excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate, in the early stages of their accounting career, to develop within a growing international development organisation. As Finance & IT Officer you have huge development potential, and will have a varied role encompassing month end and budget support, purchase and sales ledger maintenance and management of the organisation's IT assets.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the purchase ledger, preparing regular payment runs and reconciling supplier statements
  • Monitoring all income receipts from a number of revenue streams, ensuring correct coding and input into the accounting system
  • Supporting month end, including preparation of month end journals and analysing balance sheet, and income & expenditure accounts
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets
  • Helping troubleshoot IT issues and liaising with external IT providers re. hardware/ software problems

The successful candidate will:

  • Have at least 12 months experience working in a busy accounting environment, preferably in the charity sector
  • Be in the early stages of studying towards a professional accountancy qualification
  • Have excellent IT literacy, including Excel
  • Be a strong communicator, able to partner with senior and junior, finance and non-finance staff alike
