I'm working for an SME FMCG and Consumer Goods business based in Central London, where I'm hiring for a Finance Manager position. The business is rapidly-growing and they are looking for a Finance Manager to take charge of the Finance Function.

The role of Finance Manager will include:

  • Managing and supporting the development of two accounts assistants, including overseeing their work on expenses, purchase ledger and inter-company recharges
  • Overseeing and controlling the month end process, cost centre reporting, overhead reviews, accruals and prepayments
  • Production of the monthly management accounts; providing commentary and analysis for senior management to add value and assist in decision making
  • Driving improvements in effectiveness, controls and commercial understanding across Finance
  • Business Partnering with heads of departments to keep costs within budgets, and consolidating financial knowledge across the business
  • Preparing annual budgets in conjunction with the Financial Controller and other department heads
  • Financial planning, analysis, forecasting and foreign currency planning
  • Statutory compliance; HMRC and Ireland revenue returns and payments
  • Ad hoc analysis for the Financial Controller and senior management

The suitable candidate for the role of Finance Manager must be/have:

  • Fully chartered accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA only) with 1-3 years PQE
  • Management experience
  • Experience within an FMCG/Retail/Wholesale environment
  • Effective communication with both finance and non-finance staff
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Strong IT, ERP and modelling skills, including Excel
  • Ability to prioritise and manage upwards
  • Experience in a multi-currency working environment is desirable
