Our client is an International Energy group who are growing their Oil Trading team in Central London.
A newly created role has arisen for a Finance Manager to join who will plan and lead the completion of all accounting processes, and related activities, within the specialised area of Oil Trading across all entities (European and Asian).
Significant new project opportunities range from the implementation of automation of processes to support organic growth, as well as supporting business development as they grows their presence in the Middle East and Asia.
The candidate must be willing to travel monthly (to Europe) and be confident to manage remote teams and engage with international stakeholders.
This is a high profile position running the finance functions for Oil Trading and reporting into the Head of Finance in London. It is a newly created position that coordinates all delivery activities of the department and is accountable for the continuous development of the organisation.
The role manages a team of 2 candidates who will be based in an international office and will direct and supervise advanced accounting (Hedge Accounting, Accounting of Derivatives, Commodity Trading) as well as supervising the timely provision of relevant information requested by management, including monthly, quarterly and annual IFRS reporting.
The role will deal with complex queries from internal and external stakeholders including governmental agencies. As such it is essential that the candidate possesses excellent communication skills.
Previous experience in managing accounting and teams in a commodity trading environment is essential; candidates with international experience will be looked upon favourably.
