I'm working for a FTSE 250 retail business based in Central London, where I'm recruiting for a Finance Planning Manager position. This would be a really exciting time to join the business, as they have recently hired a new CFO who is implementing significant strategic changes.

The role of Finance Planning Manager would include:

  • Creating, developing and owning all forecasting, outlooks, budgets and long-terms for the Services Division Plans
  • Providing key support for the business functions; providing insight, updating and progress and time lines, and communicating with the wider commercial finance
  • Ensuring that all Services functions provide timely assumptions for input into forecasts
  • Furnishing the business with a continual update on expected performance, issues with the performance, and solutions for discussion and agreement
  • Supporting and challenging business owners at a senior level within the business
  • Constant interaction with non-finance colleagues, and working collaboratively with peers across the Planning function
  • Influencing at all levels, including creating and delivering top quality presentations

The suitable candidate for the role of Finance Planning Manager must be/have:

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
  • Experience within a large retail/services organisation
  • Ability to provide commercial and financial strategic insight
  • Ability to influence at all levels within a business
  • Strong preparation skills
  • Strong technical accounting skills and excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Strong data and analytical skills
