We are looking for a Financial Systems and Project Manager to join an international leading Entertainment company in their Chiswick Park office on a permanent basis.
This role will support the Financial Controller with project managing the development of systems and processes for the Finance Team. You will develop enhanced ways of working for Finance on core operational.
You will do/be:
Projects and Systems Development
- To review, with the Finance Leadership Team and Financial Controller, key areas of systems improvement for UK&I and agree priority areas of focus
- Identify and recommend improvements where appropriate and, in liaison with Group Finance systems, advise on
- options and any technical limitations
- Manage, with support from Financial Controller, project planning from requirements through design, development, Testing, implementation. evaluation and maintenance of solutions
- Prepare Gap Analysis, propose solutions and develop and implement said solutions ensuring developments are fully tested and embedded in the team’s ways of working
- Ensure cross functional and cross divisional support for key systems developments
- ??Coordinate activities in delivery of projects including non finance resources and escalate as appropriate where project delivery is at risk
- ??Provide insight on any non finance technical projects, working with Technical Services, and assess and highlight their potential impact on finance systems. Work with the Financial Controller to ensure any impact is planned for and addressed.
- ??Ensure any systems development on non-core finance systems are assessed for impact on Finance and regression tested as appropriate
- ??support on the assessment of any impact from new business streams on back office finance systems and processes
Support and Enhance Ways of Working
- Provide technical insight, coaching and mentoring to Finance Team members on core finance systems including Agresso, Cognos and Vista
- Serve as a subject matter expert in rinance on business systems and functionality understanding the full end to end
- Business process
- Ensure that processes within Finance and systems are well understood and documented where required
- Supply training and support for finance systems and act as main point of contact for Group Finance Systems for UK&I
- and for rinance stakeholders on rinance systems
- Promote continuous process improvement and best practice, for finance systems and processes, within Finance Team Lead the rollout out and effective use of new reporting tools for Finance teams including Cognos TM1
- Support the annual completion of statutory financial statements from Caseware with the Senior Compliance
- Accountant, ensuring timely delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines. Loading trial balances and required data to system and refining notes and disclosures using the software effectively
Integrity of Finance Systems
- Verify the accuracy and completion of daily system processing, including, amongst others, interfaces into Agresso and Cognos from the source systems, and liaise with Technical and Group Teams where error correction or further investigation is required
- Ensure smooth operation of finance systems to minimize disruption to finance teams
- Through ensuring effective reports are available and reviewed that accurate data is input into finance systems from source systems and highlight any weaknesses in the governance of the data
- Work with the Finance Team to identify opportunities for increased governance and reporting of core data and reporting integrity eq Concessions Product File
- Drive creation of systems process documentation for new and existing processes identifying risks and mitigating actions
- Promote a strong control framework around data and finance systems
Project Management
- Ensure best Project Management Principles are applied to finance systems and process developments and deployments
- Plan, develop and execute routine testing / use cases and validate results durina all phases of testing
- Regularly update Finance Team as part of change control processes to mitigate any changes impacting financial systems, with a view of the end to end process, including the accounting rules, Reporting Cubes in Cognos and
- Agresso GL
Controls and Procedures
- Provide backup and support to Financial Controller and Finance Team during financial close process including reporting
- Support Financial Controller in shortening Period End and Financial Close Process through systems development, process improvements and effective use of systems reports
- Support the Financial Controller in ad hoc analysis of large data sets if required to support timely completion of reporting and otter insight on control issues
- Ensure all company processes and procedures are followed
- Ensure an accurate procedure manual for key management accounts processes is kept up-to-date on an on-going basis
REQUIREMENTS – Knowledge & Experience
- Part Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant – ACCA/CIMA/ACA
- Good working knowledge of SQL and Access Databases
- Knowledge of large systems development and rollouts including reporting systems
- Knowledge of ERP Systems (Agresso) and Reporting
- Used to working with large volumes of data, analysing and providing insights as required
- Solid experience of reconciliation of large volumes of data
- Able to demonstrate examples of proactively engaging, guiding, supporting and recommending solutions with Technical Teams
- Extensive knowledge working with Agresso, Cognos, Excel & PowerPoint
Desirable
- Experience gained within the Retail, Leisure, Hospitality sectors
- Experience or Laseware sortware
