I'm working for a high-growth clothing retailer based in Central London, where I am recruiting for a Financial Accountant role. This retail business is a rapidly-expanding company with offices all over Europe, Asia and Australia. The role of Financial Accountant will focus on their European market and the potential growth here, so this would be a really exciting time to join the company and make your mark in this newly-created role.

The role of Financial Accountant will include:

  • IFRS reporting, which will include quarterly and yearly disclosures
  • Implementation and monitoring of J-SOX controls
  • Key involvement in month end processes, reviewing the P&L and balance sheet analysis
  • Building relationships with store managers to identify potential accounting issues
  • Aid P&L management and business insight
  • Coaching and training of our outsourcing accounting and AP functions dealing with transactional processes
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly journals and monthly balance sheet reconciliations for designated counties and accounts

The suitable candidate for the role of Financial Accountant must be/have:

  • Qualified with either ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with both management and store colleagues, on both accounting topics and business operations
  • Organised, proactive, process-oriented and deadline-driven
  • The ability to thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment
  • Experience with IFRS reporting, and a working knowledge of all balance sheet and P&L account classifications necessary
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • High motivation levels and be hungry to tackle new challenges as the business develops
