I'm working for a London-based IT recruitment consultancy firm, where I'm recruiting for a Financial Controller position. This business has experienced high growth year on year, and has won multiple awards in its sector. The role of Financial Controller will include:

  • Working closely with different business leaders in the company
  • Leading and managing the 6-strong finance team, including coach, development and delegation
  • Responsibility for company compliance
  • Managing the budgeting and forecasting processes for the UK and international subsidiaries
  • Monitoring the Flash results and the production of monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines
  • Authorisation of commission payments
  • Implementation and monitoring of Finance policies and procedures, including treasury controls and expenditure authorisation
  • Monitor and sign-off subsidiary balance sheets
  • Monitoring debtors, and minimise bad debt exposure
  • Monitor and manage cash flow projections
  • Managing the year end audit process, including timely preparation of statutory accounts and tax computations

The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller will be/have:

  • Fully ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Experience working in a recruitment company, or have experience in a contractor-led environment
  • Good understanding of tax
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Resilience and tenacity
  • The ability to work well in a team environment
