A large British Investment Manager is seeking a Fund Accountant. This is a 12-month FTC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 50% - Accounting and Reporting:
    1. Coordinate the production, audit and publication of the annual reports of the Investment Managers public Funds including liaison with the fund administrators, the external auditors and the publishers;
    2. Review and integrate the contributions of the PMs, Investor Relations and Compliance teams towards the report and act as a point of contact between them and the auditors to answer audit queries;
    3. Perform SOI reconciliations for each annual report to ensure that the Schedules of Investments contain materially accurate data, with investments classified correctly per the fair value hierarchy in the accounting standards (FAS 157/IFRS 13);
    4. Provide management information relating to the public Funds including analysis of the expenses (TER), preparation and review of the budgets and the provision of management information to the Finance and Marketing teams;
    5. Shadow review all year-end, roll-over, and mid-year crystallization performance fee calculations from the administrator;
    6. Coordinate the Comfort Letter review and signing process between Fund Accounting, Compliance and the Finance Director;
    7. Coordinate the monthly legal fee accrual process between Investment Manager and the administrator;
    8. Produce distribution and solvency calculations to recommend distributions to the Boards;
    9. Produce the RCC submission for the department.

  • 40% - Internal Project Work:
    1. Monitor the regulatory and accounting standards landscape for updates which could materially impact the investment manager from an accounting perspective. Report to management on material findings;
    2. Monitor and validate the daily accrual of expenses and fees on a monthly basis to ensure that the information is complete and accurate;
    3. Ensure investment transactions are efficiently and appropriately structured and recorded. Provide technical accounting support to Legal and Front Office as required when they perform purchases, sales or restructurings;
    4. Supervise the production of the quarterly management accounts and the annual reports of the real estate SPVs, and act as a technical support to the PM.
    5. Contribute to the company recharge models (L&P, Middle Office).
    6. Coordinate Fund closures and review the closure accruals.
    7. Provide audit support to the PMVC.
    8. Produce company fee income models (DTEK, Metinvest)
    9. Oversee the department's annual contribution to the ISAE3402 controls report.

  • 10% - Ad Hoc Work:
    1. Respond to business, client and 3rd party queries in a timely manner;
    2. Perform other duties as assigned and incidental to the work above.
