Graduate Analyst

Primary purpose:

To provide P&L analysis, explanation and support across all areas of DFE reporting (including IPV) for London Controlled Businesses, and to support these businesses in the delivery of new initiatives and process improvements, whilst maintaining key governance and control


 Review, Monitor and Analyse Trading portfolio on a daily basis
 Accountability for all London Controlled businesses, acting as point of contact for each local business
 Provide accurate daily P&L reporting of DFE numbers across Equity Derivative, Interest Rate Derivative and RMG businesses
 Explanation around daily P&L numbers including analysis of P&L fluctuations and significant drivers for senior management reporting
 Initiate analysis to provide recommendations for improvements to enhance business efficiency and support
 Provide local governance and control across all areas of Trading
 Monthly review of independent price verification (IPV)
 Review new trades/amendment bookings in line with Model Vetting restrictions and APL reporting specifications
 Close liaison with other Infrastructure areas of Global Middle Office and Operations, Risk Management, Front Office, Finance and Internal Audit.


 Educated to a degree level (2:1 from top 30 University) and strong academic background
 Preferable experience working in the financial services industry with particular experience across any of the following businesses - Equity and Interest Rate derivatives (highly desireable), FX, Bonds, Treasury, Commodities (any length of time, even a week placement)
 Highly articulate and confident individual with good interpersonal skills
 Motivated with a flexible approach to problem solving
 Well developed PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Access
 Able to accept and take responsibility
 Control orientated with a thorough and analytical approach
