A PE backed property business is looking for a Group Financial Controller. The Group Financial Controller will take ownership of the core group finance processes including financial reporting, consolidation, the audit process and working with the wider business on capex investment projects. The Group Financial Controller will report to the Finance Director but will also have exposure to very senior stake holders across the business.

The business turns over in the region of £250m and the PE firm who have recently acquired them are aiming to double the size of the organisation over the next 3-5 years. Therefore this would be a brilliant time to join the organisation as you would almost certainly gain exposure to acquisitions and a potential exit at some stage.

The Group Financial Controller position is a crucial role in the finance team. It heads up a team of 6 people onshore and 10+ people in an outsourced function in India. Key stake holders around the group include; the investment management and development teams, FP&A, tax, treasury and the general counsel / legal department.

This individual should be a qualified accountant (ACA preferred) with 8-10 years post-qualified experience ideally within group finance. A strong technical knowledge of IFRS is essential as well as an interest in the property sector. However, prior property sector experience is not essential. Previously this company has hired individuals from a range of industries including leisure, retail, hospitality and media.
