Goodman Masson are partnering with a well-known University to recruit an interim Head of Finance to cover the gap between permanent appointments. This will be a short-term interim post, paying between £350-£500 dependant on experience.

Duties will include:

  • Provide the Deans, Faculty Managers and other senior colleagues within the University with valuable support on strategic and operational financial issues
  • Maintain current long-term plan in place to meet the University's academic and financial objectives
  • Manage the delivery of comprehensive financial and management reporting services, including budgets, actuals, forecasts, balance sheet and income and expenditure reports
  • Provide effective support on current and planned projects, proposals and university partnerships across the organisation. Manage relevant business cases and risk analysis
  • Ensure positive relations are maintained with key stakeholders, continually updating them with the financial performance of the University and their contribution to progress

Essential criteria:

  • Fully qualified accountant with considerable post-qualification experienced
  • Proven track record in senior financial positions, managing large teams during busy periods
  • Successful long- and short-term business/ financial planning
  • Previous experience from within a higher education institution
