Interim Finance Business Partner

A growing multi-academy trust, which serves diverse communities across East and South London, is looking for a hands-on Finance Business Partner to support them for the next 6 months. As Finance Business Partner, your main responsibilities will include:

• Liaising with (predominantly) non-finance stakeholders within the schools to discuss their budgets, expenditure vs. budget, any movements, etc.
• Preparing budgets and financial forecasts
• Supporting the busy month end period, including posting journals and month end reconciliations
• Overseeing the processing of monthly payroll for Head Office and for the schools, and reviewing the accuracy of monthly payroll reports
• Preparing monthly financial reports, and VAT returns

The successful candidate will:

• Be a fully qualified accountant with proven prior experience in a hands-on business partnering or financial management role
• Have worked either in the education sector, or in an organisation with multiple different income streams
• Be willing and able to take responsibility for some more technical accounting duties, such as payroll, month end reconciliations, and VAT
• Have strong Excel skills, able to navigate multiple spreadsheets

As this role is working for a multi-academy trust with schools in different locations across East and South London, you will need to be flexible in being able to work between the Central London Head Office and the schools. This will result in 3 days per week working in the office/at the schools, with two from home.
