About the role:

A leading Real Estate and property developer is looking to hire a Junior Financial Accountant to join their Central London’s Financial Reporting team on a permanent basis with hybrid working arrangement.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that key financial processes are well controlled and managed. This includes half yearly results process, quarterly joint venture reporting process, Statutory Accounts and Corporation Tax returns, along with helping to support the wider Group Finance team. The role offers a great opportunity for learning and development, with a growth mindset and training future talent.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of this role, you will gain excellent professional development. Through exposure to different elements of the group finance function and financial cycles, from attending in-house learning opportunities providing insight & exposure to other aspects of the business, and receiving support while working toward a professional accountancy qualification:

  • Coordinate the quarterly management reporting responsibilities for our joint venture partners, managing the overall timetable and liaising with internal stakeholders in finance and real estate teams
  • Take ownership of various Key Financial Controls of the Financial Reporting team, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and cash reconciliations as part of half yearly reporting, analytic reviews as part of quarterly ledger lock process
  • Assist with preparation of our annual financial statement production process for c.500 statutory accounts – this includes monitoring the overall process ensuring the FR team are meeting deadlines, preparing statutory accounts and working with the external auditors and dealing with their queries
  • Coordinate with our internal Company Secretariate team to ensure statutory filing deadlines with Companies House are met
  • Assist with the annual corporation tax returns process, including the tracking and completion of the iXBRL statuary accounts tagging for HMRC filing
  • Other ad hoc tasks and projects throughout the year as and when required

Experience and Qualities

  • Excellent organisational skills and keen eye for detail
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications

  • Able to take ownership and responsibility of workload and output
  • Aspiration to qualify as an accountant
