About the company

We have teamed up with a a company that deals with Implementing RBQM and a Risk Based Monitoring (RBM) approach to every part of your business, including SOPs, training, roles, responsibilities, technology, operations, business models and cost structures. Management accounting and reporting for this company will include the preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts, monthly Board Pack and support of the annual audit of consolidated statutory financial statements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review of the timely submission of weekly timesheets by employees and contractors, and follow-up/chase missing timesheets & incorrect data.
  • Preparation of the timesheet data in the Hours Recharging Workbook from the timesheet recording software (currently Replicon) for entry into the general ledger.
  • Calculation of cost recognition for each month based on timesheet data entries.
  • Maintenance of Licence Revenue Recognition Workbooks for SaaS Products “OPRA-RAM” and “OPRA-CM” by Client and Enterprise Order based on review of OPRA-RAM and OPRA-CM trackers maintained as Excel workbooks.
  • Maintenance of the Project Resource Forecasting Workbook, updating each month based on timesheet submissions of actual hours and revised Monthly Project Forecasts received from Operations.
  • Preparation of the Monthly Revenue Recognition Workbooks for each month based on Project Resource Forecasting Workbook and Licence Revenue Recognition Workbooks.
  • Review of the GL invoice databases maintained by the Senior Bookkeeper for each legal entity and entry of the revenue recognized each month for each invoice and reconciliation of these databases to the Monthly Revenue Recognition Workbook.
  • Review and revision of the forecast dates for all forecast invoices included in the Contracted Invoice Databases (which records the forecast invoice date for each signed contract and the actual date and invoice number when actual invoices are issued). This data is used to determine the completeness of billing and the forecast cash receipt date for invoices which have yet to be raised.
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register for IT equipment, tracking the cost and the location of IT equipment provided to remote working employees.
  • Preparation of monthly consolidated profit and loss account, the consolidated balance sheet and consolidated cashflow using excel workbooks and other KPI data reported on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation of margin by revenue product, margin by project for certain revenue products gross margin by revenue product group, and analyses of overheads for inclusion in monthly Board Reports.
  • Preparation of group cashflow projections for use in monthly Board Reports based on the forecast cash receipt dates of issued and forecast invoices, forecast Purchase Ledger transactions and the impact of Sales Opportunities classified as “Commit” and “Upside” (prepared monthly but projecting on weekly basis).
  • Preparation of the draft monthly Board Report for review by CFO.
  • Preparation of consolidated information for the financial year for use in preparation of the annual financial statements.
  • Support the provision of information requested by the auditors in their audit of the annual statutory consolidated financial statements.
  • Review of draft VAT returns for consistency with weekly cashflow forecasts prior to filing.
  • Provide support to the business during holidays and other absences of the CFO.
  • Provide cover for the Senior Bookkeeper during holidays and other absences.

Involvement in future system implementation projects

  • Automation of the entry of timesheet data into the general ledger from the timesheet recording software.
  • Automation of the preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts for the company, associated analyses of gross margin and overheads, and cashflow reporting through the use of consolidation software.
  • Automation of OPRA-RAM and OPRA-CM subscription management

Required Skills:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with leadership team
  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
  • Good Excel skills
  • Understanding of and experience of using online accounting systems (Xero and Quickbooks financial accounting systems helpful)
  • Knowledge and experience of accountancy, financial reporting and bookkeeping
  • Accuracy and eye for detail

Relevant Experience

  • Years of accounting experience – 3+ years
  • Knowledge and use of accounting packages – 3+ years
  • Level of competence on Excel and database management – Advanced
  • Level of competence of SQL and database management – preferred
