Goodman Masson are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well known Media business based in North West London on a 10 month contract.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for the forecasting and management accounting for revenue and staff-related costs for nominated for the brands. They will be supported in the performance of their tasks by other members of the Financial Reporting and Analysis team both in London and Offshore (India).

The Management Accountant will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • General Accounting
    • Responsibility to work with Finance Teams Offshore and across FR&A in London to ensure consistent, accurate and timely reporting
    • Review and finalise monthly management accounting for revenue, costs and expenses, accruals and prepayments, within tight deadlines
    • Analyse and report on changes to revenue, payroll costs and expenses, Month-on-month, Year to date and against forecast
    • Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations for staff related costs prepared by Offshore accounting teams to ensure risks and open items are being resolved
    • Prepare, or approve, journals for input by the Offshore team
    • Provide guidance to Offshore teams on reporting and accounting requirements
    • Review costs being capitalised each month end to ensure comply with policy
  • Revenue Forecasts
    • Weekly review of forecast revenue numbers provided by client teams, to validate, consolidate and produce the weekly dashboard report
    • Provide training to new users of forecast sheets and manage input forecast sheets when required.
    • Work with the client and operations teams each month, to create reliable and accurate monthly revenue forecasts
    • Work with other group companies to agree on "One Client Code" clients and track monthly variances
  • Revenue Accounting
    • Month end tasks to verify client revenues, which includes reviewing the accrued and deferred income balance sheet accounts
    • Responsible for ensuring the accurate submission of all month-end income statement, Segmental, CPS and KAP data in BPC
    • Continuous improvements in the processes for reporting Revenues
    • Review unbilled amounts each month to follow-up with the Operations teams
  • Payroll Accounting
    • Management review and approval of payroll
    • Validation of pay data against HR and employee data
    • Update of forecast payroll data, liaising with HR and Workday system
    • Update Headcount and Salary tracker regularly
    • Review and approve headcount to be submitted at month end
    • Agree inter-company salary recharges and review related journals
  • Management Reporting
    • Preparation of management information on P&L variances for key stakeholders, including the Central UK Financial Reporting team and senior management, at month-ends, forecast cycles, and ad-hoc
  • Forecasting
    • Support the preparation of forecast data each quarter
  • Projects
    • Assist the Director of FR&A with any projects, particularly process standardisation
