TITLE -Finance Assistant/Accountant and Studio Manager
LOCATION – Shoreditch – hybrid
SALARY – £45-55K

We are looking for a Finance Studio Manager to join an innovative interior design company with their offices in Shoreditch. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with 2-3 years experience in a similar commercial finance role, looking for a dynamic and exciting work environment with great benefits.


  • Managing the day-to-day and monthly finances of the company. This role directly supports the Managing Director in driving the business forward by providing reliable financial insight.
  • The role has ownership of invoicing, payroll, variance analysis and ensuring accurate management reporting is provided to the management team.
  • The job holder will support the business by providing office management to a creative and busy team. The job holder acts as a first point of contact for all new enquiries.
  • This role provides valuable support to the whole team, facilitating an efficient and enjoyable working environment.
  • Finance Management advice based on reporting and analysis findings
  • Provide Monthly Management Reports – P&L, Balance Sheet, Aged Receivables/Payables
  • Work with external bookkeeper for VAT Returns, WIP application and any journal adjustments
  • Update Cashflow and process payments weekly
  • Provide accurate payroll data to external bookkeepers & process staff payments monthly
  • Reconcile bank account and credit cards through Xero
  • Create, track and chase sales invoices in a timely and effective manner
  • Process all supplier and client invoices through Synergist, Xero and Company bank account
  • Ensure financial operations run efficiently, implementing improved procedures where relevant

Office Manager duties

  • Operate as executive assistant to the Managing Director
  • Assist with Recruitment and HR management of the company’s staff
  • First point of call for all IT support
  • Ensure Project Management software (Synergist), is effective and used productively by the whole team * Ensure all H&S procedures are up to date and adhered to by all personnel
  • Prepare, note-take and contribute at weekly team meetings, following up any actions as a result
  • Support Project Managers and Designers by identifying potential workflow disruptions
  • Introduce new and managing existing operational procedures to improve workflow
  • Organise Strategy days once a year
  • Organise lunch & learns once a month
  • Ensure effective cleaning of office through external partners
  • Ensure that all office equipment is in full working order and is cost efficient
  • Organise weekly drinks and treats, and summer and Christmas parties
  • Responsible for the incoming and outgoing post
  • Be a first point of contact for external partners, suppliers and clients, directing them to the relevant person where necessary via email and telephone.

Health, Safety and Maintenance

  • Be the first point of contact for all company Health & Safety, including Fire Marshal and First Aid
  • Liaise with external HR and legal team regarding all company H&S
  • Attend and contribute at weekly team meetings and project meetings, following up any actions as a result.
  • Be responsible for your own health safety and welfare and to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the team, including ensuring the office environment is safe at all times

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years commercial finance experience in a similar field Experience in the retail industry or similar design agency is advantageous
  • Experience with management of small business finance
  • Experience producing and analysing monthly management reports
  • Experience in managing a team and workflow Working knowledge of Xero is advantageous
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
