A well-known, global energy company are looking for a Revenue Accountant to join their international revenue division, focusing on operations in Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe.

Reporting to the Team Lead, you will play a key role in delivering Financial support to several stakeholders across the business. This role is responsible for key aspects of our monthly accounting close process and production reporting for the division; as well as supporting the Revenue Team Lead in the provision of financial and production information to Divisional and Corporate Management.


Production / Revenue

  • Pro-actively work with offshore support and engineering teams to understand the drivers behind production variances and forecasts on a monthly basis
  • Utilise strong face to face communication to engage with the Planning Team and Engineers to prepare the annual Work Plan and Budget for Production
  • Prepare forecast to budget analysis for production and revenue. Ensure that all variances are understood and be able to respond to questions raised from management
  • Work with the marketing team to understand the Carbon Emissions process and ensure these are correctly accounted for and billed to Joint Venture partners
  • Review of sales invoices; ensuring the invoices are correct before issuing to counter-party
  • Maintaining SOX documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls and maintain relationships with both internal and external audit in support of this
  • Understand key cash flow drivers and prepare forecasts for the UK Management Team and Treasury
  • Prepare the Improper payments submission on a quarterly basis
  • Support corporate planning and deliver high quality information for UK Management Team Information packs as required

Legal entity accounting

  • Prepare Board papers for legal entities assigned to this role working proactively with stakeholders including Tax, Legal and Treasury
  • Prepare legal entity statements assigned to this role and proactively engage with stakeholders in this process
  • Prepare entries & analysis for budgeting & forecast process and entries for Legal Entities

Balance Sheet

  • Prepare account reconciliations and analysis assigned to the role to ensure accuracy and proactively bring any irregularities to resolution
  • Aged debtor checking and chasing payments

Ad-hoc tasks

  • Assist the Senior Accountant with the annual commitments and contingencies disclosure
  • Work with various stakeholders to complete the annual disclosure on payments to government
  • Deliver presentations to drive improved business and stakeholder engagement

Skills and Experience

  • Part-Qualified (ACCA,CIMA,ACA)
  • A good grounding in IFRS
  • An effective communicator that is able to work with all levels in the organisation
  • Quick learner with a structured approach to problem solving
  • Flexibility in your working style to adapt to changing environments and priorities
  • Excellent planning skills
