This is an exciting opportunity to join a large retail organisation as a Senior Financial Planning Analyst on a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will be three years post qualified with a strong background in FP&A.

Purpose of the role

You will be gathering an understanding of the past and future performance via the delivery of key reporting, planning and analysis processes:

  • Review and interpret previous results to improve understanding of the performance and challenge information provided by others
  • Manage forward looking planning processes and submissions including weekly and quarterly budget
  • Additional analysis, presentations and reporting as required such as Director's Cut and ad hoc requests
  • Provide an understanding for the UK&I Exec and Group via FP&A reporting

Responsibilities include:

  • Continuously look for ways to simplify and streamline all reporting
  • Maintain and interpret the core planning models (BAU file and initiatives master file)
  • Review key figures and analysis to ensure full understanding
  • Challenge and interpret numbers ensuring that decisions are being made accurately
  • Participate in interim and final result ensuring results and commentary are accurate
  • Identify business trends and areas of concern conducting further analysis
  • Prepare quarterly bond
  • Review the Territory Board month end pack ensuring accurate commentary is provided
  • Delivery of the UK Director's Pack within deadline
  • Prepare materials to communicate financial plans to key business stakeholders
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the model
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of business plans
  • Work with management accountants and the business partners
