A global travel business is looking to recruit an ACA/ACCA qualified candidate to join its finance team. Managing at least 1 person this role will assist the Financial Controller in the control of the finance and accounting policies, practices and procedures. It will also include the compliance with statutory requirements, preparation of monthly financial reports, accounting records, variance analysis and ad hoc reporting, allowing senior management to make informed business decisions and thereby improve our profitability. Further details include:

  • Ensuring on time correct submissions to UK and European Government entities
  • Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to team members
  • Responsible for team member training and performance management
  • Manage the Overhead Sales/Purchases ledgers and assist with Global Treasury processes, including:
    • the accurate and timely processing, payment and first approval of creditor invoices within agreed creditor terms
    • Review of daily cash flow reporting and preparation of weekly cash flow reporting to submit to Group Treasury
    • Review and approval of month end bank reconciliations for the EMEA region
    • Complete monthly consolidated reporting for Europe
  • Review of processes to ensure tasks are performed in the most efficient manner, automated where possible and that the processes are documented
  • Responsible for compliance with statutory requirements, including preparation/review of income tax and VAT calculations
  • Review of Europe wide VAT and tax requirements including liaising with external accountants
  • Completion and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the chart of accounts to ensure the accurate accounting of all assets, liabilities, income and expenses of the organisation
  • Analysis of financial results to determine the whys behind the results and be the key point of contact for department specific queries
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax professionals as required during the conduct of the audit process
  • Ensuring that policies and procedures are maintained at all times
  • Assisting in budgeting and management reporting activities as needed
  • Ensure team processes/tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and within set timeframes
  • Delivering a high standard of communication and customer service to internal and external customers and colleagues
  • Providing assistance to the Financial Controller and wider Finance team as required
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time
