Senior Global Accountant

I am looking for an experienced Senior Global Accountant to join my client on a 6 month FTC. The role will provide support to the Global Functions Finance Team in the delivery of quality financial support and challenge to the Global Functions including the GFET and the delivery of financial results to the Group Reporting Team to support planning, forecasting and reporting activities.

Financial and Management Reporting

Key Responsibilities

Financial and Management Reporting

  • Responsible for alignment and reconciliations between key systems
  • Producing and reporting monthly management accounts
  • Reporting using Group reporting tools for IFRS and Solvency II to assist in
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, recharges and other accounting deliverables on a monthly basis
  • Manage intercompany relationships
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns
  • Coordinate dividend process at half year & year end
  • Coordinate with other finance teams in these processes
  • Preparation of IFRS and Solvency quarterly, half year and full year reporting information for submission to Group Reporting Team
  • Work alongside Group Reward team to produce analytics to support forecasting, payout and accrual monitoring of Long Term Incentive scheme and Management Bonus scheme
  • Ensure strong financial controls including process documentation and account reconciliations


Business Partnering

  • Support designated Global Functions and associated cost centres. Assist function heads and cost centre managers to understand the monthly results, track year-to-date results, forecast end of year performance and undertake the annual business planning cycle
  • Provide analysis & challenge to cost centre managers to support resource allocation decisions. Identify and quantify opportunities for cost savings. Help drive forward thinking and early identification of issues and decisions
  • Support Head of Group Functions and Manager of Group Functions to provide scenario analysis and ad-hoc support to GFET members including to aid decision making and budget planning
  • Provide insightful reporting on the Group Function's monthly performance and determine a monthly 'best estimated forecast' of year-end performance

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • +1/2 Years PQE (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Excellent on Excel
  • Experience of monthly and statutory financial reporting and understanding of IFRS financial standards
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Good relationship building, presentation and communication skills to establish good rapport with non-financial oriented individuals and other company finance teams
  • Proactive and curious attitude

Preferred

  • Experience of planning, management reporting and analytical review for Head Office functions
  • Exposure to non-financial stakeholders and Executive level stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Cognos Planner, Peoplesoft Financials and Tagetik preferred or similar GL and planning tools
