The candidate will report to the Group Head of P&C Actuarial & Business Reviews.
The Group Risk Management is a strategic department within this international company dealing with the
most sophisticated P&C challenges and influencing strategic development decisions
in P&C operations of a leading international insurance and reinsurance company.
The candidate will have to play a strong role in the achievement of the team
objectives, notably maintaining the Group's reserves at an adequate level, modelling
all P&C Lines of Business' risks (except natural events) and coordinating /
conducting in-depth reviews of entities sponsored by the Group Management.
The candidate will interact with entity's top management and in particular with the
Heads of Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims and Finance departments.
- Defining / updating Group P&C reserving policy and performing regular reviews:
− Provide the Group with opinion on the Technical Reserves.
− Regularly conduct in-depth reviews (IDR) of P&C entities to review the local
underwriting, the claims management processes and the reserving.
− Perform specific Technical Reserves review on a particular portion of the business
whose complexity or materiality may require a Group opinion.
- Operations (underwriting, claim management, pricing), governance and control
− Contribute to the definition of the Group Standards and Solvency 2 Policies for
underwriting, claims management and reinsurance.
− Lead the Product Approval Process (PAP) which is applicable group-wide to
portfolio review and new business launch.
− Elaborate Group Risk Management's opinion on risks and initiatives submitted to
the Group Underwriting Committee (GUC) approval.
- Ensure Group Risk Management's P&C Business expertise.
- Group modelling tools and Risk Appetite
− Define and supervise the P&C exposure collection In the Clymene Group
Reporting tool for local entities' P&C lines of business exposure (except Cat Nat)
− Lead and develop the modelling of the Group P&C risk for all P&C business (e.g.
Liability, Cyber,…) except Natural Catastrophe risk. Hence deduce the reinsurance
cover to be purchased at Group level in line with Group Risk Appetite.
− Suggest and discuss the Group Risk Appetite limits for the various P&C lines of
business, to be set by the Group Audit Risk & Compliance Committee (ARCC).
