Senior Treasury Accountant

I am currently working with a leading energy business who are seeking Senior Treasury Accountant to join their global treasury advisory team.

Reporting directly into the department head, this role will involve providing expert technical treasury accounting advice to the wider business, as well as being the SME across a number of key treasury areas and ensuring a strong control framework for their risk management.

Responsibilities

• Providing expert accounting advice to project teams to ensure that transactions are appropriately reported and understood
• Responsibility for a number of key treasury areas of subject matter expertise
• Maximising the use of Finance Operations in process delivery and supporting knowledge transfer and competency build as more Legal Entity Controller work is transitioned
• Ensuring an appropriate control framework is in place for risk management
• Appropriately involving other teams to support financial activities, whilst building overall accountability.
• Providing expert Finance Advisor support across a wide range of connected areas such as risk management and group structuring.

To be a good fit:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
• 2+ years of post qualification treasury accounting experience in a corporate environment
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS 9 and technical accounting on a range of financial instruments
• Expertise across the spectrum of Finance competences
• Experience in risk management and corporate structuring would be an advantage
• A proven record of continuous improvement
• An ability to use analytics and insights to resolve problems, with a view to influencing and supporting the decision-making process and risk management
• Skills within project management
