By Goodman Masson

We are immensely proud that there are an increasing number of working parents at Goodman Masson who have benefited from our parental leave policy.

Here are some of their comments:

“I am forever grateful for the level of support I received from GM as I approached my due date. The new parent loan helped me get all the baby gear I needed, and the maternity pay offered gave me great financial security so I could really focus on and enjoy my time with my growing family. For me, what was more important than the financials was the ongoing support, the flexibility, the trust, and the understanding experienced when I was welcomed back. I was genuinely excited to return to work and the transition has been very smooth thanks to everyone’s ongoing support” – Toni Harney

“I have now been back at work for seven months post-maternity leave, and I am so grateful for the flexibility and support I have been given whilst I transition into being a ‘working mum’. And the advanced parental leave policy really helped me in being financially comfortable whilst I was on maternity leave – something I am so thankful for” – Vanessa Sadikvand

“As the father of 6-month-old triplets Goodman Masson’s parental leave policy has been invaluable. I was able to take my paternity leave after the triplets came home from hospital which meant that I could bond with them and help more. While they were still in hospital the flexible working enabled me to come and go from the hospital as necessary and still get my work done. I have no idea how we could have survived this if I were expected to be in the office 5 days a week” – Oliver Ottey

“As a new father GM’s Paternity leave is excellent. The flexibility relating to when and how you take your 2-week paternity leave is by far one of the best features. Additionally, to this, GM’s completely flexible approach to when and where you can work has allowed me to spend precious time with my new born son which is excellent. The culture and flexibility given to new dads at GM is exactly what you want to be a part of as you venture into starting a new family” – Jose Retamal

“I wanted my career to continue the same trajectory and I wanted to have a family too! It is wrong that in 2022 there are people who are having to choose one or the other because they aren’t supported to have both by their employer. GM’s enhanced parental leave policy meant I could have both and know that I am valued enough that I wasn’t being asked to choose” – Lydia Golds

“It is weeks like this when the weekend seems to have gone so fast and the weather looks great, that I am super grateful to work for a business that supports me as a working mum. I feel lucky to have real flexibility to balance my job as a mum, with a career that I have worked hard to build, it means a lot. It’s great to know that I am free to do things that are important to me. I can take my two young sons to the park on Wednesdays, make the school pick up or prep my 4-year-old for his first show and tell. Goodman Masson’s agility has always supported me to be able to experience the highs and lows of time with a 1- and 4-year-old… which also results in lots of times when I’m very pleased to get back into the office too” – Alice Morton

“Making the transition back to work is not easy. Flexibility can really help you juggle your new responsibilities and this is something Goodman Masson are known for, as long as your work is done this is not an issue. So many new mums leave their employer due to the pressure of work and I never felt like this, I could not be more grateful for the support I received from everyone. My manager completely understood my new situation and it helped me settle back in to work life” – Kim Cocklin

“I was nervous coming back from mat leave wondering how I was going to juggle a full-time job with a baby but my boss and team have been so supportive, they have made the transition easy. Being allowed to work fully flexibly has been life changing and means I can pick up my daughter from creche every day” – Emer Kelly

“As a father of two young children I am so grateful for the enhanced paternity leave that Goodman Masson offer.  The extra time with my children is so precious in their early years.  The support is ongoing with the approach to agile working allowing me freedom to cover nursery and school runs, when necessary, which is really helpful with two working parents.” – Jake Freeman

As you can see, it’s a game changer! If you want to find out more about careers at Goodman Masson and how our parental leave and flexible working polices might work for you, please email internalrecruitment@goodmanmasson.com for more information.
