Just when I thought winter would never end, the sun arrived! Albeit just for one day, spring is certainly in the air. The days are getting warmer, and the nights are getting longer, so here’s how you can make the most of what London has to offer in the lead-up to summer…
If like me, you jumped on the Formula One bandwagon after watching ‘Drive to Survive’ then the F1 Arcade in Chancery Lane is a fantastic way to live out your Max Verstappen dreams. Unlike the sticky car racing simulators in your local arcade, this bar is very sleek and has amazing views of St Paul’s Cathedral. Order food, drinks and pick your racing mode – this is so much fun.
Think Pimm’s, Guns N Roses and the green grass of Hyde Park. For two straight weekends, British Summer Time Festival holds a series of concerts including some of the biggest names in the world like The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Adele, and more! The festival runs from Friday 23rd June – Saturday 8th July.
Deemed the floral equivalent of London Fashion Week, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show attracts more than 150,000 visitors each year, including members of the Royal Family! The grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea are transformed by world-renowned garden designers, plant specialists and florists. What better way to celebrate the turn of the season than with flowers? 23 – 27 May 2023.
Do your bit for Earth Day 2023 (Saturday 22nd April) and partake in the Hackney Clothes Swap. Each year, 350,000 tonnes or around £140 million worth of used, but still wearable clothing goes to landfill in the UK. This free community-driven event hosted at Hackney Bridge aims to prevent this from happening by encouraging people to bring along 5 items of clothing ready to swap.
The Lindt Gold Bunny Easter Hunt returns to Hampton Court Palace this Easter (1st – 16th April), setting up a trail around the historic palace grounds. Using a map, children can explore the site whilst finding the gold bunny statues. Each one found will reveal a story about a character from the palace’s past and once you’ve collected them all, you will earn a Lindt Gold Bunny chocolate reward. Delicious and educational – what could be better?
