A unique, pioneering, innovative organisation is looking for a commercial CFO to lead them through an exciting period of growth and transformation. This truly incredible organisation partners with organisations, governments, start-ups and institutions across Europe to achieve systemic change to human impact on our environment.

The CFO is responsible for the company's financial and risk management including developing the financial strategy coherent with the direction of the organisation as a whole, as well as operational plan and metrics to execute on the strategy. As well as this, you will:

  • Report to the CEO to drive the organisation's financial and commercial performance, ensuring goals are delivered within budgets, multi-year plans and expectations set by key financing partners
  • Provide leadership of the finance and legal team to provide professional and effective financial management and support to the grants-management community and hybrid finance for large-scale projects
  • Play a key role in the ongoing organisation-wide transformation, which includes moving to a new business model, increasing their number of partners and improving systems and business intelligence
  • Manage 3 direct reports in London (with a wider team beneath) and 5 in-country finance leads

The successful candidate will:

  • Have at least ten years' post-qualification experience
  • Be experienced working in complex entities with multi-national interests
  • Have a mix of not for profit and commercial experience
  • Have led a large organisation through a period of change or transformation, and developed its new strategy
  • Be open to a small amount of travel to Europe
