Data Protection Officer

We are working with a research organisation in Central London who are currently recruiting for a Data Protection Officer to join their team. This role will be responsible for providing data protection advice and guidance to the organisation and ensuring compliance with GDPR and DPA legislation.

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum plus benefits
Duration: Permanent
Location: Hybrid/Central London (minimum on-site requirement twice per week)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Acting the first point of contact for data protection issues or questions
• Overseeing the organisation’s data protection strategy and implementation
• Monitoring compliance with GDPR and DPA legislation
• Managing internal data protection activities
• Training staff on data protection
• Conducting internal audits
• Investigating data security breaches and managing any incidents

The successful candidate will have:

• Demonstrable experience in a data protection role
• Detailed understanding of the GDPR/DPA legislation
• CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or other GDPR qualifications
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate stakeholders and an ability to generate credible buy in and accountability
