A leading sports business is looking to recruit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified candidateto join its finance function. Managing a team of 4 the role focuses on:

  • The Groups financial information including the external financial reporting
  • Effective cash and treasury management of the group including managing interest rate and foreign exchange risk and cash-flow reporting
  • Business owner of the financial reporting systems
  • Identifying and leading change to improve existing processes and controls

You will provide support to the Group Financial Controller. Further details include:

  • Responsible for year-end financial reporting including the Group and subsidiary financial statements
  • Owns the group accounting policies and provision of technical accounting advice as required
  • Ownership of the month end close process (balance sheet and cash flow) working in conjunction with Commercial Finance
  • Ownership of month-end balance sheet and cash flow reporting
  • Preparation of papers for Group Audit Committee and attendance where appropriate

Ensure appropriate controls are in place over financial reporting processes

  • Responsible for the cash management of the group including management of the group's hedging programme (execution of trades and maintaining documentation) and oversight of banking covenant reporting
  • Cash flow reporting (budget and forecast)

Management of the Group's insurance programme

Business owner of the financial accounting systems, ensuring technology is being used to its full capability to run and manage financial reporting processes

Critically assess processes and lead improvement changes where appropriate

You will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with experience in a similar financial accounting role where you have led teams and led change. Working knowledge of financial accounting standards (FRS 102) and experience of preparing financial statements and reconciliations would be desirable.
