Financial Controller

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large, well known Multi Academy Trust as their Financial Controller. The role will oversee a team of 6 and will be responsible for all financial reporting and compliance for the Trust. The successful candidate will have 5-10 years post qualified experience and previous experience managing a team of 4+ in a business at least 100 mill turnover. Non-for profit experience is preferred.

  • Manage a Central Finance team of 6
  • Co-ordinate the year-end statutory accounts for all Academies and the consolidated accounts,
  • Be key point of contact for the external auditors through the audit process
  • Maintaining and developing the financial system with the help of the Head of Finance Systems.
  • Prepare consolidation of the Academies' accounts and annual budgets
  • manage cash flow, funding and capital expenditure
  • Record and evaluate all proposals for expenditure on capital and other projects.
  • Monitor performance against budget
  • Set the annual timetable for all areas of financial reporting
  • Manage VAT liabilities including reviewing VAT returns and consolidate for submission to HMRC
