If you are a Qualified Accountant from an audit firm, and are looking for a new challenging role, with 2/3 days per week working from home - then please read on.

An Academy Trust in London are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their finance team covering their 7 academies across Bedford and Essex. This role will be based 2/3 days working remotely/at home and the other 2 days at the academies.

You will ideally have a background in audit where you may have had clients in the public sector during your time there.

This would suit someone bright, responsible and keen to develop within an organisation which has a huge social impact on thousands of young people.

The Financial Controller role is an exciting and dynamic leadership role, with responsibility for financial management and for the leadership and management of the financial personnel in each of the 7 schools.

The Financial Controller will ensure the provision of management information for the Trust's planning and monitoring systems, and will ensure the completion of statistical returns to outside agencies. The Financial Controller is a key member of the Trust's management team and is expected to bring a modern, business-like approach, running it as a highly competent and efficient service.

Finally, the post-holder will ensure that the systems and processes around the financial management and functions relating to this element of the Trust are efficient, reliable and quality assured through internal controls and processes, internal and external audit and remain a key feature of how well the Trust is managed - both for existing schools, but also any prospective schools or stakeholders.
