I am currently partnering with an high growth media agency based in the City of London, who are looking to bring on board a Revenue Analyst to take ownership of two of their vertical revenue streams. Working in a team of three you will report directly into the Revenue Director for the EMEA region, this role is an excellent opportunity for someone with some exposure to revenue accounting to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute month-end close processes including manual revenue calculations, analysis of revenue on projects of assigned teams, creation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and review and adjustment of revenue related accounts
  • Provide revenue oversight, guidance, problem resolution and training to various teams across the company, including project teams, finance staff, and corporate legal team
  • Read and analyze client contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with IFRS 15, and identify potential risks and revenue-related issues, while maintaining compliance with internal company policies and procedures
  • Analyze variances between forecasted revenue and actual revenue generated, and liaising with Client Finance department to research and resolve potential issues
  • Work to improve collections and cash flow by analyzing unbilled revenue balances, and working with Client Finance and Business Operations by providing information and support to aid in reducing aged unbilled balances and accounts receivables, as well as identifying potential risks and revenue-related impacts
  • Provide finance management with various analyses of revenue and related balance sheet accounts on an ad-hoc basis, including monthly fluctuation analyses
  • Assist in preparation of documentation for internal and external audits

Experience Guidelines:

  • 1 - 3 years of related work experience in either a revenue accounting role or general accounting role
  • Experience creating and interpreting ad hoc financial analysis
  • Ability to research and resolve basic to complex revenue related accounting issues including application of IFRS 15, or some exposure to previous revenue recognition guidance (including IAS 11, IAS 18, SAB 104, or SOP 81-1, among others)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to understand and infer relationships between metrics and operational and financial processes

Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Experience using Excel required, including work with pivot tables and advanced formulas
  • Effective communication skills to various levels of stakeholders and management
  • Oracle Project Accounting or experience with other revenue recognition software is a plus
