Have you ever wondered what life inside our Goodman Masson Academy is like? We asked a bunch of our most successful academy members to share their experiences to give you a better insight into how our academy works and what training you would receive, should you wish to join our next academy!
To kick off this series, we’re putting our Real Estate & Construction Senior Consultant, Ashley Stretton, in the limelight to learn about his journey since joining the academy back in May 2021, and how he has since been promoted to Senior Consultant! Have a scroll to learn out more…
What feedback do you have about the academy?
I felt that the academy was a wonderful experience and a brilliant way to ease into the business along with starting with a good grounding and understanding of how Goodman Masson operates. The whole two weeks were very well thought out and covered all the core skills needed to be a successful recruiter, there was a solid and structured plan in place to support you once you are on your desk with regular check-ins and follow-up sessions.
What was your highlight of the academy?
A highlight for me was how interactive and engaging the experience was, with endless meet and greets put in your diary to ensure that you had met all key personnel in the business. All sessions involved either competitions, tasks, or conversations to discuss learning. The trainers on the academy were fantastic and did an excellent job at articulating their knowledge and passing it over to us.
Have your expectations been met about the job?
I expected to be left to my own devices once leaving the academy, but this was not the case. I have had regular follow-up sessions and know that I could always go to the Learning & Development team for further help and advice. They set me up perfectly with what to expect in my first 6 months and I feel that I would have struggled without this insight. The job has been a massive learning curve and hard at some times, but there is a huge amount of support to get you through it.
