Senior Manager – Not for Profit & Public Sector
How long have you been working at Goodman Masson?
It will be six years in January!
How many times have you been promoted since you joined?
Three times
Why have you had such great progression?
My manager and director are enormously invested in me. I probably wouldn’t have come around to the idea of management myself for quite a while had they not identified that I had the skill set and empowered me to go for it when they did. I’ve also had huge support from L&D, and I have been ambitious about the speed at which I grow my team whilst pushing myself to bill to achieve promotions as quickly as possible.
Tell us an interesting fact about your time at Goodman Masson?
My team make my job as fantastic and enjoyable as it is 😊
What is the best thing you’ve learned during your career?
That at every stage of my career with Goodman Masson, no matter how senior, there will always be support – I’ve learned to always put my hand up to ask for help and advice. It’s not a weakness, it’s a strength to ask
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t hold back, and don’t be so cautious. I spent a lot of my earlier career with Goodman Masson, taking time with things like new markets or growing my team through fear of getting it wrong; if I could speak to my younger self and I’ve told me to just go for it, have the confidence in myself that I don’t need to be so cautious and run after my next promotion, which is exactly what I’m doing now!
